Fan Class rocks! - Barbara King

It is exciting to see the progression of the fan - from learning the basics to now working two fans. Never thought I could do it! Thanks to Sensei for starting this class!

It is very impressive to see everyone dressed out and doing katas and warmups together in their uniforms. We are going to be a force to be reckoned with as other schools see us compete and show another set of traditional forms.

Congratulations guys and gals! As those Sempais take their place in the Dojo, many new doors will open up for them by teaching. It is true that it is a lot of hard work but in the end it will be worth it. Keep up the good work!

Uniforms are in and they look great! Its now time to learn how to move in them. Students are moving right along and for your first kyu testing you must know all three katas and “z” cut, “follow through”, and “recoil” movement and you must have basics down.

Weapons Bunkai of first kata.: Sempie dai

The first Okinawa Warrior who has the complete Bunkai with the weapon of choice and can explain it to Sensei clearly will have a chance to win a GoShinKan Team Warmer Jacket. This will be due Sunday April 5th Good Luck!

I just wanted to say thank you to Mark, Gauge , and Eli for the hard work and thought they put into making my Bo. It is an incredible weapon both aesthetically and fundamentally and is teaching me a great deal about my weapons kata stances and control. Thank you again, Sempai Hawes.

This class has been a lot of fun. Even the Goshinkan students are learning a lot of grace and fluidity. I hope all the new students are enjoying themselves as much as I am.

My family has a Bose Soundbox (iPod Speaker with mp3 connection cord) and we can bring it if you want, so everybody doesn't have to find the CD with their song on it, if they don't already have it.
