A Small Dojo Tournament Opens Doors

A small group of AMA Dojo students attend a local Dojo tournament. The tournament brings to light that we as martial artists, strive to learn and share our knowledge with others.

I was very impressed with one of our tournament host’s student. This tall (very tall) over 6ft tall Young Brown Belt drew the smallest of the orange belt. This was an open division so no age, rank or size brackets. A just for fun match. The AMA Orange Belt with the great height of just over 4ft tall walks to the line. He takes a large gulp then begins to try to look up at his opponents face.

The Brown Belt works with the little Orange Belt and makes him work for every point but in the end allowing him to win the match.

No one would have been upset if the Brown Belt had won the match, it would have be expected. This Brown Belt however decides to make this little Orange Belts day buy letting him win his match but making him work at it.

I for one would like say the Brown Belt did a great Job! Well done!

I thought he showed a lot of character in the way he handled our young student. He definately made Eli push his skills toward their limits to earn the points.
